Carpenter – Commercial & Residential Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our community‑driven general contracting team in Kelowna. The role involves delivering high‑quality carpentry on commercial and residential projects while collaborating with project managers, trades, and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform layout, framing, flooring, trim, cabinetry, ceiling systems, partitions, and finish carpentry tasks on commercial projects.
• Read blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to ensure precise workmanship and compliance with specifications.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood, metal, or composite components accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, other trades, and subcontractors to meet project milestones.
• Maintain clean, safe job sites and keep tools, materials, and supplies organized.
• Inspect work for quality, rectify defects proactively, and mentor apprentices when needed.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial and residential construction.
• Red Seal Carpentry Certification preferred; Journeyman level acceptable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead crews or coordinate tasks.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
• Accurate measurement, cutting, assembling, and installing of wood, metal or composite components.
• Strong math skills for layout and material calculations.
• Ownership of a reliable tool set and ability to maintain tools safely.
• Occupational First Aid Level 2 or 3 (asset).
