Cabinetmaker – Skilled Woodworker

About the role

JJ Kitchen Cabinets Ltd. is seeking a dedicated cabinetmaker to join our Edmonton workshop. The role involves crafting high‑quality kitchen cabinets using traditional hand tools and ensuring each piece meets our exacting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Shape wood surfaces and edges with hand tools such as planes, chisels, and wood files.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and drawings to produce accurate components.
• Trim joints, fit parts, and assemble sub‑assemblies into complete cabinet units.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Supervise junior workers and provide guidance on techniques.
• Estimate material requirements and associated costs for projects.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to learn on the job; experience is an asset but not mandatory.
• Ability to work full‑time in a hands‑on workshop setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools: planes, chisels, wood files.
• Basic ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Fundamental cost‑estimation skills for materials.
