C++ Software Engineering Internship

About the role

Huawei Canada is offering an internship for a software engineer focused on C++ development within its Computing Data Application Acceleration Lab in Markham. The team works on full‑stack innovations, software‑hardware co‑design and data‑efficiency improvements for storage, runtime and next‑generation GPU architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to software development at the product or platform level.
• Assist in designing and coding cross‑sub‑system components and key algorithms.
• Participate in open‑source and standards meetings to present solutions.
• Generate intellectual property such as patents and trade‑secrets from research findings.
• Present research results and collaborate with external research institutes and universities.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Software development experience with C++ or Rust, including object‑oriented design.
• Knowledge of OS internals, compilers, Linux operating system, system/processor performance, and CPU architecture.
