Business Systems Analyst

About the role

The Business Systems Analyst will report to the Director of Product Development and work on the Venn platform, an integrated solution for monitoring, evaluation and learning. Based in Toronto with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), the role bridges technical teams and program stakeholders to ensure scalable, offline‑first system designs.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, defining system logic, data flows and integration points.
• Design and validate data models, schemas and relationships that support offline‑first operation.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, architects and engineering teams to align requirements with system design and governance.
• Map and document integrations, API requirements and data exchange rules across platform components.
• Define acceptance criteria, support UAT and work with engineers to resolve defects.
• Maintain change‑control documentation and ensure scalability across multiple countries and program variations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in systems analysis, technical requirements gathering or enterprise workflow design.
• Proven ability to convert business and program needs into structured, buildable technical specifications.
• Strong facilitation skills and experience leading sessions with senior leaders and technical specialists.
• Experience with Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Jira or ClickUp.
