Business Journalist – Global B2B Coverage (Multiple Regions)

About the role

Key Media is building a network of business journalists to turn complex subjects into engaging stories across sectors such as wealth, HR, insurance, mortgage, finance, legal and safety. You will contribute to market‑leading B2B titles and work with a global editorial team that values original reporting and strong source relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Write timely, interview‑driven articles for a portfolio of B2B titles, delivering at least two interview stories and one breaking news piece each day.
• Spend a minimum of 60 minutes daily on talk time (phone, Teams, in‑person) to book and conduct interviews with senior executives.
• Actively chase hard‑to‑reach contacts, build a robust source network, and generate original, agenda‑setting story ideas.
• Produce high‑quality, well‑researched news, features and analysis tailored to professional audiences.
• Leverage AI tools for research, idea generation, data exploration and first‑draft structuring while maintaining editorial judgment.
• Collaborate with editors and management to grow online traffic, support new products and explore new formats.

Required profile

• Experienced journalist or high‑potential early‑career reporter with a genuine interest in business and professional services markets.
• Confident communicator on the page, phone and in person, comfortable conducting interviews and networking at industry events.
• Can‑do attitude, strong news sense and commitment to high editorial standards.
• Curiosity and adaptability to work with evolving AI tools.
• Sector experience (HR, insurance, mortgage, finance, legal, safety) is a plus but not mandatory.
