Business Development Specialist – Research (Remote)

About the role

Signal49 Research is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support its research portfolio across multiple Knowledge Areas. Working remotely from a Canadian home office, you will help identify and coordinate funding opportunities for multi‑funded research centres and mission‑driven projects.

Key responsibilities

• Research prospective funders, compile key contacts, and create tailored outreach lists.
• Draft outreach messages, briefing notes, and follow‑up communications.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings with funders, prepare agendas and background packages, and track action items.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and opportunities in the CRM system.
• Support cross‑functional collaboration by gathering information and organizing documentation for Knowledge Areas.
