Business Development Specialist

About the role

Advance Paper Box Ltd., a leading folding carton manufacturer in Winnipeg, is seeking a driven Business Development Specialist to expand its customer base across North America. You will work closely with the Sales Manager to identify new opportunities and present tailored packaging solutions to prospects.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target new business opportunities within the folding cartons industry.
• Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients through regular in‑person meetings and follow‑up.
• Travel extensively to meet clients, prospects, and industry contacts.
• Collaborate with the Sales Manager to create targeted sales strategies and identify key markets.
• Monitor market trends and competitive activity to inform sales approaches.
• Present customized packaging solutions that meet client needs.
• Work with production, design, and customer service teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
• Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field (asset).
• 2‑4 years of experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably in folding carton or packaging.
• In‑depth knowledge of the folding carton market, especially in food, healthcare or consumer goods (asset).
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
• Proven ability to develop sales strategies, meet targets and close deals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
