Buildings Mechanical Engineer

About the role

CBCL is seeking a Buildings Mechanical Engineer to join its Buildings Engineering team in Halifax, NS. You will collaborate with designers and construction professionals on sustainable building projects, delivering HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and control system solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare contract documents for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building systems controls.
• Design new construction and renovation projects across healthcare, laboratory, residential and recreational sectors.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design support staff.
• Manage project budgets and deliverables.
• Engage with clients and support business development proposals.
• Perform construction administration, field reviews, and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration in Canada (eligible for Engineers Nova Scotia).
• Minimum five years of experience designing mechanical systems for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
• Additional accreditations such as PMP or LEED AP are assets.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong communication, teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel within Atlantic Canada.
