BMOC Marine Terminal Operator

About the role

The BMOC Marine Terminal Operator supports the safe, efficient and reliable day‑to‑day operation of Bridgemans Marine Operations Centre at Commissioner Street. Acting as the cross‑shift counterpart to the BMOC Marine Superintendent/Lead, the role ensures continuity across provisioning, effluent transfer, vessel support, material handling, waste management, site maintenance and marine logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate terminal activities, receive, load, unload and stage vessel stores, food, laundry, equipment and other materials.
• Support vessel provisioning, sewage discharge, fresh‑water supply, cleaning and dock services.
• Operate forklifts, skid‑steers and other material‑handling equipment, performing pre‑use inspections.
• Manage solid‑waste handling, waste manifests and MARPOL documentation.
• Perform routine inspections, identify maintenance needs and assist with minor repairs.
• Maintain accurate daily operational records, logs and shift handovers.

Required profile

• Must obtain and maintain competency in forklift and skid‑steer operation.
• Proficiency in effluent‑transfer procedures and marine line handling.
• Ability to prevent and respond to spills and follow BMOC emergency procedures.
• Knowledge of waste segregation, documentation and equipment inspection.
• Capability to work outdoors in a marine and industrial environment.
