Bioinformatics Scientist

About the role

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia seeks a Bioinformatics Scientist to join the Aparicio Laboratory. You will contribute to translational oncology research by analysing high‑throughput genomic and imaging data sets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform computational analysis of single‑cell, spatial and bulk transcriptomics data.
• Develop, test and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for high‑throughput data processing.
• Collaborate with bioinformaticians, research scientists and engineers across the lab.
• Generate and interpret statistical reports to support research hypotheses.
• Design new workflows for integrating genomic and imaging datasets.

Required profile

• Creative and experienced in genomic and image data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and follow scientific leads.
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork.
