Bilingual Residential Mortgage Funder

About the role

The Bilingual Residential Mortgage Funder reviews legal documents and moves mortgage loans through to funding. Working in EQ Bank’s Toronto office, you will ensure all paperwork aligns with underwriting approvals, coordinate with the Closing Service Provider, and prepare mortgage advance cheques.

Key responsibilities

• Review legal documents daily to confirm they match underwriting requirements and conduct light audits for policy compliance.
• Complete funding activities such as cutting cheques, setting up property tax accounts, and handling both conventional and collateral mortgages.
• Communicate status updates, changes, and unique deal details to the Closing Service Provider via the portal.
• Maintain 100% quality assurance and compliance metrics, adhering to AML, KYC and internal guidelines.
• Liaise with internal teams (Compliance, Mortgage Servicing, Credit) to resolve ad‑hoc issues and provide timely status reports.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of mortgage experience, preferably with prime and alternative products.
• Bilingual (English/French) with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong time‑management and ability to work under pressure.
• Familiarity with AML and compliance practices.
• Post‑secondary diploma.
