About the role

Join EQ Bank’s growing commercial team as a Bilingual Commercial Underwriting Manager for Business Enterprise Solutions. You will underwrite conventional commercial mortgages, ensure compliance with lending guidelines, and deliver timely, service‑oriented solutions to meet department goals and volume targets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and underwrite commercial credit facilities (≈50% of time), ensuring all lending criteria are satisfied and documentation is complete.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders and external partners such as mortgage brokers, solicitors, and appraisers to process transactions efficiently (≈30%).
• Manage pipeline and deal flow to meet prescribed deadlines (≈15%).
• Perform administrative and reporting duties for senior management on a monthly basis (≈5%).

Required profile

• Bilingualism (English/French) is mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial mortgage or SFR underwriting experience.
• Post‑secondary education preferred, ideally in business or finance.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to attend broker events (often after hours) and conduct site inspections; access to a vehicle is required.
