Bakery Supervisor

About the role

Demetres is looking for a Bakery Supervisor to lead the production team at its central commissary in Woodbridge. The role combines hands‑on baking with team leadership, ensuring every batch meets the quality standards that have defined the brand for over 35 years.

Key responsibilities

• Work side‑by‑side with the production crew, performing daily baking, prep, and manufacturing tasks.
• Oversee production schedules, ensuring output targets are met on time and to standard.
• Monitor product quality at each stage and enforce quality benchmarks.
• Coach, train and support staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Enforce food safety, sanitation and workplace safety protocols.
• Maintain batch records, flag issues and report updates to the Production Manager.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, equipment concerns or team issues proactively.

Required profile

• Hands‑on leadership style with a proven ability to motivate a high‑output team.
• Experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail for quality, consistency and compliance.
• Physical stamina to stand for entire shifts, lift up to 50 lb and work in varying temperatures.

Required skills

• Food Handler Certification
• Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety documentation
