About the role

Join Scribd’s Content Foundations team as a Backend Software Engineer. You will help build and maintain the core systems that ingest, process, and deliver content across Scribd’s portfolio of products, ensuring that billions of users receive reliable, high‑quality reading and listening experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale backend services for content ingestion, metadata extraction, and early quality controls.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create APIs that power search, recommendation, and AI/ML pipelines.
• Maintain and improve the data pipelines that generate the core artifacts used throughout Scribd’s ecosystem.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement robust solutions for high‑volume workloads.
