About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Autism Support Worker to provide daily assistance and companionship to children with intellectual disabilities aged 6‑12. The role is based at the employer’s home in Calgary and involves personal care, activity support, and household tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Assist clients with water activities such as pool sessions.
- Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.
- Support regular exercise, e.g., walking.
- Feed or assist with feeding.
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
- Provide companionship and personal care.
- Shop for food and household supplies.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
- Cook meals as needed.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- CPR and First Aid certificates.
- Basic security clearance.
- Ability to handle loads of 45‑60 kg (100‑132 lb).
- Dependable, flexible, organized, reliable, and patient.
- Reference required.
- Availability for early‑morning, evening, and flexible hours.
