Associate/Full Professor (Tenure Track) & Canada Research Chair Tier 1

About the role

The Department of Family Medicine at McGill University seeks a full‑time Associate or Full Professor (Tenure Track) who will also hold a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1). The position is dedicated to advancing Indigenous health research, community‑based participatory methods, and primary care education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an internationally recognized research program in Indigenous health and primary care.
• Secure external funding, including Canada Research Chair resources.
• Supervise MSc, PhD, resident, and medical student trainees.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to curriculum innovation.
• Engage Indigenous communities through CBPR approaches and foster collaborative partnerships.
• Participate in departmental governance, service, and outreach activities.

Required profile

• PhD, MD, or equivalent with an outstanding record of scholarly achievement.
• Demonstrated expertise in Indigenous health, community‑based participatory research, and health services research.
• Strong commitment to Indigenous leadership, diversity, and inclusion in academia.
• Experience in securing competitive research funding.
• Ability to teach and mentor students at multiple levels.
