Associate Lawyer – Trading & Financing Agreements

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time remote Associate Lawyer to join HedgeLegal, a boutique firm that advises hedge funds, family offices and broker‑dealers on complex trading and financing documentation. The role focuses on drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of agreements while ensuring compliance with evolving financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate trading and financing agreements, including Prime Brokerage, ISDA, Futures Clearing, REPO and treasury clearing contracts.
• Assist with loan documentation and incorporate new regulatory requirements into client agreements.
• Collaborate directly with clients and counterparties to align agreements with their commercial objectives and regulatory obligations.
• Monitor relevant financial regulations and market trends to provide strategic legal advice.

Required profile

• Admission to the Bar in Quebec or New York.
• 0–4 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong analytical abilities to evaluate complex agreements.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills for client interaction.
• Self‑motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
