Assistant/Associate Professor – Nursing (tenure‑track)

About the role

The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor position. The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty focused on health equity, social justice, and community‑engaged research.

Key responsibilities

• Teach core and elective courses in the Nurse Practitioner (NP) program and other graduate offerings.
• Supervise Masters and PhD students in research projects.
• Develop an independent research program in advanced practice nursing, especially primary health care or NP practice models.
• Provide service to the university, the School of Nursing, and the broader nursing profession.
• Maintain sufficient clinical practice hours to retain NP licensure in British Columbia.

Required profile

• PhD in nursing or a closely related discipline.
• Registration or eligibility for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Demonstrated potential for high‑quality research and scholarly publication.
• Commitment to teaching excellence and mentorship of graduate students.

Required skills

What we offer

• Competitive salary: $135,000–$160,000 CAD for Assistant Professor; $150,000–$170,000 CAD for Associate Professor.
• Tenure‑track or tenured appointment with full‑time status.
