Assistant/Associate Professor (Clinical) – Ophthalmology (Uveitis)

About the role

The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at McGill University seeks a full‑time Contract Academic Staff member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical). The three‑year renewable appointment will be based at the McGill University Health Centre, providing specialist clinical care for uveitis and ocular inflammatory disease while contributing to teaching and research.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality clinical care for anterior, intermediate, posterior and panuveitis patients.
• Maintain and expand a high‑volume tertiary/quaternary uveitis service, including at least two days per week of dedicated uveitis clinics.
• Participate in after‑hours clinical duties as needed.
• Teach undergraduate, postgraduate and fellowship trainees.
• Engage in clinical and/or translational research related to ocular inflammation.

Required profile

• Fellowship‑level expertise in comprehensive management of ocular inflammatory disease.
• Strong commitment to academic excellence in clinical care, education and scholarship.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic environment.

Required skills

• Advanced diagnostic evaluation of uveitic disease.
• Proficiency in ocular imaging and ocular ultrasonography for inflammatory conditions.
• Experience with systemic immunomodulatory and immunosuppressive therapy for ocular inflammation.
