Assistant Site Supervisor

About the role

The Assistant Site Supervisor supports the Site Supervisor in managing daily operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This role is focused on a Long‑Term Care (LTC) project and acts as a key link between the project manager and on‑site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing day‑to‑day site activities to keep the project on schedule.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and workers to align tasks with project objectives.
• Track project timelines, update milestones, and flag potential delays.
• Communicate progress, issues, and delays promptly to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.
• Conduct regular inspections to verify quality standards and project specifications.
• Identify deficiencies and work with relevant teams to resolve them efficiently.
• Ensure all personnel follow health and safety regulations and use proper protective equipment.
• Perform safety checks, address hazards, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Monitor inventory levels of materials and tools, coordinating deliveries and storage.
• Maintain accurate site logs, recording daily activities, incidents, and completed work.
• Assist in preparing detailed reports for managers or clients.
• Supervise on‑site workers, reinforcing project plans, instructions, and safety standards.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in construction site supervision, preferably on long‑term care projects.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
• Strong attention to detail for quality control and safety compliance.
• Proactive problem‑solving skills to address on‑site issues quickly.
