Assistant Recreation Programmer - Outdoor Education

About the Position

Are you passionate about outdoor activities, community building, and creating unforgettable experiences? As an Assistant Recreation Programmer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality outdoor education programs, day camps, and community events at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre.

Main Missions

• Coordinate outdoor education programs, including day camps and community-focused events.
• Supervise and mentor instructors and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery.
• Manage site facilities, equipment, and resources in collaboration with operations teams.
• Develop internal training procedures and standard operating protocols.
• Contribute to the recreation programming team by proposing innovative ideas for future outdoor activities.
• Engage directly with participants and visitors to provide exceptional customer service and collect feedback for continuous improvement.
• Support recruitment, staff development, and various special projects within the department.
