Assistant Project Manager – Construction

About the role

The Assistant Project Manager, Construction will support assigned projects and collaborate with larger project teams to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery. Based in our Montreal office, the role involves regular travel across Eastern Canada and close interaction with internal stakeholders and tenants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and monitor project budgets, schedules and deliverables.
• Manage pre‑construction, construction and post‑construction activities, including leasing and property‑management projects.
• Prepare weekly status reports, track issues and communicate impacts to senior management.
• Facilitate tenant coordination, review lease drawings, and support utility installations.
• Attend design, site, real‑estate and development meetings and produce accurate minutes.
• Conduct due‑diligence research and source historical property data.
• Complete project close‑out documentation, including drawings, O&M manuals and tenant inspections.
• Handle general project administration such as invoice processing, cost tracking, change management and file management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or related fields.
• University degree or post‑secondary education in construction, architecture or engineering.
• Commercial construction experience is an asset.
• Proven ability to manage timelines, budgets and deliver project objectives.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and judgment skills.
• Effective communication with all organizational levels.
• Experience with process redesign, mapping and documentation.
