Assistant Professor – Multilingual Digital Communication

About the role

The McGill School of Continuing Studies seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor (or Faculty Lecturer) to join its new MSc (A) in Multilingual Digital Communication. This non‑tenure‑track position will last three years initially, with renewal possible based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver online courses for the MSc (A) program and related initiatives.
• Participate in curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement for multilingual digital communication and technology‑innovation programs.
• Oversee the online development of courses within the Technology and Innovation domain.
• Plan and coordinate the Multilingual Communication Technologies Stream, including capstone experiences such as internships, practicums, and applied research projects.
• Serve on relevant workgroups, committees, and academic administrative activities.
• Conduct applied research that informs curriculum and program delivery.
• Identify and apply for external grants and other funding sources.

Required profile

• Graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Localization Studies, Computational Linguistics, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in multilingual digital communication and related technologies.
• Experience teaching online courses at the graduate level.
• Strong record of applied research and ability to secure research funding.
