Assistant Production Manager

About the role

The Assistant Production Manager will support day‑to‑day leadership of a custom cabinet manufacturing operation in the Okanagan, BC. Reporting to the Production Manager, this hands‑on role ensures that production runs safely, consistently, and efficiently while fostering strong team performance and accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate workflow, labour planning, material flow and resource allocation to meet production priorities.
• Communicate operational direction from the Production Manager and ensure expectations are understood across the shop floor.
• Act as a technical and operational resource, troubleshooting production challenges and supporting practical decision‑making.
• Lead, coach and develop production employees, emphasizing safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Monitor workflow, capacity, output and quality; use data and observations to identify efficiency gains and reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate production records and generate reports on performance, quality, labour and delivery metrics.

Required profile

• Experience in custom cabinet or similar manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to lead production teams and manage day‑to‑day operations.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on safety and quality.
• Effective communication skills for coaching, conflict resolution and cross‑functional coordination.
