Assistant Manager, Sales (Luxury Retail)

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Sales supports the Sales Manager in a luxury retail environment, overseeing daily floor activities, coaching staff, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service and sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sales‑floor supervision, spending the majority of time on the selling floor.
• Coach and train associates to meet luxury standards and achieve service targets.
• Resolve customer issues and communicate concerns to the manager.
• Recommend improvements to enhance sales and service standards.
• Facilitate training programs and assist with the launch of selling tools.
• Help associates build and maintain an active client base.
• Participate in recruitment, assign work, and provide performance feedback.
• Monitor inventory performance, merchandising standards, and customer trends.
• Organize department meetings and keep the team informed of initiatives.
• Maintain merchandise presentation and day‑to‑day operational awareness of leased businesses.
• Model leadership behaviours, uphold health & safety practices, and ensure privacy compliance.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years supervisory experience with accountability for sales and service.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and profit targets.
• Adaptable and comfortable with change; luxury retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
