Assistant Manager – Restaurant Operations

About the role

A&W Restaurants is seeking a full‑time Assistant Manager to join the Langford (Millstream) location. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, uphold brand standards, and deliver an excellent guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Manager in balancing food quality, speed of service, guest satisfaction and cost control.
• Assist with reviewing weekly P&L statements, managing food, labour and operational expenses.
• Maintain A&W operational standards, health and safety compliance, and participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Oversee staff scheduling, shift deployment and equipment maintenance.
• Recruit, train and mentor hourly staff; address performance issues and support disciplinary actions.
• Ensure payroll, scheduling and HR policy compliance with provincial regulations.

Required profile

• Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a restaurant supervisory or management role.
• Strong understanding of food safety, WorkSafeBC, public health and ESA requirements.
• Ability to analyse financial reports and control costs.
