Assistant Manager – Full-Time Retail

About the role

We are looking for a full-time Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager at Hot Topic’s flagship location in St Vital Centre, Winnipeg. You will help drive sales, recruit and develop a passionate team, and ensure an exceptional in-store experience for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and comp sales goals.
• Recruit, train, and retain a collaborative, high-performing team.
• Promote new products and engage customers through social media, BOPIS, and curbside pickup.
• Maintain operational excellence, including loss prevention, payroll, scheduling, and shrink control.
• Analyze sales reports and use data to guide strategies for meeting targets.
• Merchandise the store according to planograms and launch promotions on schedule.
• Foster a customer-first culture and develop associate performance.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of retail store management experience, preferably in music or pop-culture retail.
• Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and manage operations such as payroll, reporting, and scheduling.
• High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education is a plus.
• Adaptability to a fast-changing retail environment and willingness to handle physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lb).
