Assistant HR Manager – Head Office

About the role

OpenRoad is seeking an Assistant HR Manager for its Head Office to support HR operations across British Columbia and Ontario. You will partner with managers and HR staff to ensure compliance, drive employee engagement, and lead key HR initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and oversee daily HR functions, providing guidance to managers on employee relations, performance management, and recruitment.
• Lead workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and health‑and‑safety matters.
• Ensure compliance with local legislation and implement new regulatory requirements.
• Develop, roll out, and monitor HR policies, training programs, and employee‑engagement projects.
• Report HR metrics to leadership and communicate updates through internal channels.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree in Human Resources Management.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience and at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, privacy, and information‑security concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑changing environment.
