Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor supports the Building Services Manager by overseeing housekeeping operations in student housing and community services. This three‑day, evening shift role ensures cleanliness, manages linen and supply distribution, and provides hands‑on training for staff.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate, distribute and supervise the work of housekeepers and service workers in assigned areas.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and common areas to verify cleanliness standards.
• Secure master key sets and provide controlled room access as needed.
• Monitor online booking and vacancy statistics to schedule cleaning tasks efficiently.
• Maintain inventory of linens, cleaning chemicals and equipment; prepare bi‑weekly supply orders.
• Report equipment deficiencies and safety concerns to management.
• Document incidents involving property damage and assist with assessments.
• Perform housekeeping duties and provide relief support to other supervisors when required.

Required profile

• Experience in supervising housekeeping or similar custodial teams.
• Ability to communicate performance standards and address issues with staff.
• Knowledge of safety practices and university/departmental policies.
• Strong organizational skills for scheduling and inventory control.

Required skills

• Proficiency with online booking or vacancy management systems.
• Basic inventory management capabilities.

What we offer

• Hourly wage between $25.77 and $28.29 CAD.
• Three‑day work week (Friday‑Sunday or Monday‑Wednesday) from 4:30 pm to 12:30 am.
