Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support the delivery of exceptional front‑of‑house service across all Fogo Island Inn outlets. You will work closely with the F&B team to ensure smooth operations, high guest satisfaction, and adherence to our sustainability values.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily food and beverage operations for the Dining Room, Roof Top, Crab Shed, Storehouse and other Shorefast entities.
• Support recruitment, training, and supervision of staff, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Handle guest complaints, special requests, and act as the primary point of contact for guest concerns.
• Monitor inventory levels, coordinate orders with suppliers, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Oversee food presentation, beverage preparation, and service quality to meet brand standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Assist in budget management, labor‑cost monitoring, and scheduling staff shifts.
• Support planning and execution of events, banquets, and private dining experiences.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in food and beverage management or a supervisory role within a restaurant or hotel environment.
• Preferred WSET Level 2 certification or equivalent wine knowledge.
• Formal hospitality training or certification from an accredited institution is a plus.
• Experience in Michelin‑starred or award‑winning establishments is desirable.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
