Assembly Operator

About the role

The Assembly Operator will join a leading electrical steel manufacturer to build flat‑stacked transformer core assemblies. The role focuses on precise handling of steel laminations, ensuring each core meets strict customer specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble small, medium and large flat‑stacked transformer cores using steel laminations according to work instructions, drawings and blueprints.
• Accurately stack, align and interleave steel sheets, maintaining correct orientation and sequence.
• Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Install core supports, clamps and insulation materials as required.
• Operate core stacking tables, lifting devices, hoists or cranes to position heavy components safely.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections throughout the assembly process.
• Identify and report non‑conformances or defects to supervisors or the quality department.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S and safety protocols.
• Complete production documentation and checklists accurately.

Required skills

• Experience operating core stacking tables, lifting devices, hoists or cranes.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of 5S workplace organization and basic inspection techniques.
