Area Manager – Retail Franchise Operations

About the role

COBS Bread is seeking an energetic Area Manager to oversee its network of franchise bakeries across Ontario. Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, you will act as a trusted advisor to franchise operators, driving sales, profitability, and brand compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong franchisee relationships to achieve shared goals.
• Work hands‑on with each bakery to identify improvement opportunities, develop action plans, and boost performance.
• Maximize sales growth through customer satisfaction and engagement initiatives.
• Ensure bakery profitability and the financial health of franchise partners.
• Lead, coach, and advise a group of franchise operators.
• Maintain compliance with COBS Bread brand standards.
• Coordinate new franchisee training with the Franchising and Training team.
• Support bakery handover and opening processes.
• Drive operational excellence to enhance sales, profitability, and customer experience.
• Implement marketing, product, and system initiatives across multiple locations.

Required profile

• High‑energy, positive attitude with strong relationship‑building skills.
• 2+ years experience in a franchise retail environment or multi‑site retail management.
• 5+ years managerial experience, preferably in food service, hospitality, or franchising.
• Proven ability to analyse financial results and translate strategy into action.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel frequently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence change and manage competing priorities.
• Degree in Business Management or related field.
