Architect – Senior Leadership Position

About the role

Dillon’s Architectural Discipline is seeking an experienced Architect to join its multidisciplinary team in Ottawa. The role combines strong leadership, technical expertise, and client‑focused collaboration to deliver complex research, institutional, healthcare, and educational projects.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and communicate the design vision for new projects to internal teams and sub‑consultants.
• Partner with clients to manage project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Oversee coordination of drawings, designs, and specifications across the project team.
• Provide technical direction during pre‑design, including functional programming, reports, sketches, and research.
• Manage overall design quality and document control.
• Support sub‑consultant coordination and contribute to business development through proposal writing and client engagement.
• Assist with RFP reviews, prepare proposals, and represent the firm in professional associations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience delivering complex architectural projects (research, institutional, healthcare, or educational).
• Proven leadership and strategic insight with strong industry connections.
• Excellent communication skills and business acumen.
• Passion for client engagement and collaborative problem‑solving.
