Architect – Facilities Design Team

About the role

Burnside is seeking an Architect to join its growing Facilities Design Team. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio that includes residential, industrial, commercial and municipal projects while collaborating with an integrated group of design professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Research, program, plan, design and administer building projects, applying knowledge of codes, materials and systems.
• Produce conceptual plans, renderings and construction documents.
• Coordinate engineering elements and integrate them into unified designs for client review.
• Act as project manager: prepare proposals, supervise staff, and oversee schematic to detailed design phases.
• Liaise with project managers, clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Research and specify materials and products for project specifications.
• Conduct construction reviews for compliance with architectural drawings and contracts.
• Identify, mitigate and resolve project risks.
• Foster strong client relationships and manage municipal and agency approvals.
