Apprentice Level 3/4 – Service Technician (Lexus)

About the role

This full‑time Apprentice Level 3/4 position is within the Service department of OpenRoad Lexus Richmond. The apprentice will perform general maintenance and repairs primarily on Lexus vehicles while developing diagnostic and technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Receive repair orders, perform work efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed components and tag parts for warranty or customer requests.
• Examine vehicles for additional safety or service work and advise the Service Advisor of any changes.
• Update the dispatcher on job status, especially for “RUSH” or “CUSTOMER WAITING” orders.
• Maintain documentation of work performed and road‑test vehicles to verify quality.
• Attend factory‑sponsored training classes and stay current with technical bulletins.
• Keep the shop area clean, safe, and ensure customers’ cars are returned clean.
• Comply with all federal, provincial and municipal regulations, including hazardous waste disposal.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of automotive equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly self‑motivated, organized and committed to high‑quality work.
• Well‑developed interpersonal skills for teamwork.
• Valid British Columbia driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Availability to work shift Saturdays.
• Minimum two‑year Apprentice Level 3/4 experience.
