Application Engineer – Proposals (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Application Engineer – Proposals provides technical application support, develops engineered solutions, and prepares competitive proposals for HVAC, fire‑pump and integrated plant package systems. The role bridges Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing and customers to deliver timely, technically sound and commercially viable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide application engineering expertise and technical support to customers, sales teams and consulting engineers.
• Analyze project specifications, design criteria and customer requirements to create optimized HVAC, fire‑pump and packaged system solutions.
• Develop accurate cost estimates and prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals that meet profitability targets.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing and Service teams to innovate cost‑effective solutions.
• Maintain proposal documentation, pricing records, assumptions and risk assessments while continuously improving estimating methods and templates.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders throughout the sales cycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing or industrial project environments.
• At least 4 years of experience in specification review, estimating and proposal development.
• Proven experience supporting engineered HVAC, hydronics, fire‑pump and automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of pumping systems and industry standards such as ANSI, ASHRAE and NFPA.
