Animal Care Assistant – Poultry Farm (Part‑time)

About the role

The Animal Care Assistant B supports the health and welfare of broiler chickens at the Macdonald Campus Farm poultry complex. Working on a part‑time basis, you will help ensure animals are properly fed, housed, and monitored while assisting with research procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor animal health and record behavioral activity.
• Ensure broilers receive appropriate feed and are housed according to standards.
• Assist with experimental procedures as directed by the Farm Manager.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform additional tasks across the farm as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• At least one year of related experience, preferably in a poultry barn.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
• English communication skills at level 2 (scale 0‑4).

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of poultry husbandry.
• Ability to observe and record animal behavior.
