About the role
The Animal Care Assistant supports daily operations on the Macdonald Campus Farm/Dairy Unit. This part‑time position involves hands‑on work with livestock in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Feed and milk cows according to schedule.
- Clean pens, bedding stalls and sweep farm areas.
- Brush and handle animals during routine care.
- Conduct educational tours for visitors.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the senior technician or farm manager.
- Assist in other farm areas as needed.
Required profile
- High School Diploma.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, high‑paced environment.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- English communication level assessed at #2.
Required skills
- Experience with dairy farm operations (feeding, milking, cleaning).
- Animal handling and basic livestock care techniques.
