Alcohol Recovery Operator – Ethanol Production

About the role

Emterra Group’s Canadian Liquids Processors Limited division is seeking an Alcohol Recovery Operator to join its licensed distillation facility. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining ethanol recovery processes while ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and cost‑effective production.

Key responsibilities

• Safely receive, handle, test, and store alcohol‑based liquids.
• Monitor and operate ethanol recovery and production equipment, including boilers and cooling towers.
• Operate wastewater treatment systems and perform spill prevention, response, and control.
• Load and unload liquid tanker trucks.
• Perform chemical testing of water, tank cleaning, and maintenance of tank parameters (pH, PSI, temperature, BOD, COD).
• Enter data, keep records, and complete basic clerical duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma (post‑secondary education in process operations, chemical technology, power engineering or environmental technology preferred).
• 3–5 years experience in distillery, brewery, winery or similar industrial processing environment.
• Ability to work shifts, lift heavy objects and operate with minimal supervision in a safety‑critical setting.

Required skills

• Process operation using DCS control systems.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with pumps, boilers, and related equipment.
• Understanding of pumping theory, distillation processes, and wastewater treatment.
• Numerical accuracy and computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Strong safety consciousness.
