Air Weapons Systems Instructor

About the role

L3Harris is seeking an experienced Air Weapons Systems Instructor to lead entry‑level maintenance training for the CF‑18 fleet. You will combine classroom instruction with hands‑on guidance, ensuring students master both theoretical concepts and practical tasks related to aircraft weapon systems.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom lessons on operating principles of CF‑18 weapon systems.
• Conduct practical, hands‑on training sessions and supervise student work.
• Attend required training and information sessions to stay current.
• Ensure compliance with tooling control, health and safety, flight safety, and documentation regulations.
• Reference and update training programs, ITFCs, work processes, and related documentation.
• Complete inspection sheets, logs, and other aircraft records accurately.
• Perform tasks assigned by the Lead Instructor, Team Leader, and Supervisor.
• Provide mentorship in Aircraft Maintenance Support Equipment, suspension/release equipment, and weapon systems.

Required profile

• College or high‑school diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum five years of CF‑18 maintenance experience.
• Bilingual in French and English with strong verbal and written communication.
• Eligibility for the Controlled Goods Program and ability to obtain Secret‑level security clearances (Canadian and NATO, US ITAR).
• Strong adaptability, interpersonal skills, and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Windows operating environment.
• Experience using SAP for maintenance or logistics processes.
• Technical expertise in CF‑18 aircraft maintenance and weapon systems.
