Accounts Administrator

About the role

The Accounts Administrator supports the finance unit by processing and monitoring financial, accounting, and payroll transactions. Working under the direction of an immediate supervisor, the role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of accounting issues.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and process invoices, change‑orders, and purchase requisitions in accordance with department standards.
• Maintain vendor statements, follow up on discrepancies, and manage the invoice receipt email account.
• Create and update capital project funds, set up budgets, and maintain the capital asset database.
• Coordinate asset tagging appointments with faculty members.
• Perform ad‑hoc administrative tasks, including updating government reports and other unit‑specific duties.

Required profile

• Knowledge of accounting principles and strong organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Client‑focused, service‑oriented attitude with clear communication skills in both English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency with FIS financial system.
• Experience using Crystal Reports.
• Competence in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as general database packages.
