Accounting Manager

About the role

Join a fast‑growing finance team at Peninsula Employment Services Limited as the Accounting Manager. Based in downtown Toronto, you will lead a diverse accounting group and ensure accurate financial reporting for a company operating across Canada and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, month‑end and year‑end close processes, and preparation of financial statements.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, ensure compliance with IFRS, ASPE, tax regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors.
• Review balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and manage cash‑flow planning.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and provide financial analysis to senior management.
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate accounting staff, fostering professional development.
• Implement process improvements and system enhancements, including Unity billing platform, Salesforce and Dimensions GL.
• Prepare and file monthly HST remittances.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA designation is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and ASPE.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage complex financial processes.
