Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Join Flair Airlines' Finance team as an Accountant, supporting accurate and timely financial reporting for Canada’s leading low‑cost carrier. Based in Edmonton or Calgary, you will work closely with the Manager, Financial Reporting to ensure month‑end and year‑end processes run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end and year‑end close activities, preparing schedules and working papers.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations in line with internal and audit standards.
• Analyse financial transactions, verify coding, and ensure correct posting to the general ledger.
• Investigate and resolve unreconciled balances and discrepancies.
• Assist internal and external auditors by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects to enhance reporting efficiency.
• Support implementation of new financial systems or process enhancements.
• Safeguard confidentiality of financial data and undertake ad‑hoc projects as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Progress toward CPA designation or strong interest in pursuing it.
• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience in public practice or industry.
• Demonstrated alignment with Flair’s core values of honesty, efficiency, accountability and respect.
