Accountant – Business Services Group

About the role

Brookfield Renewable is seeking an Accountant to join its Business Services Group. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close, and collaborating with the accounting team to ensure reliable reporting for a portfolio of renewable‑energy companies.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close for multiple entities.
• Prepare timely and accurate general journal entries.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and investigate intercompany balances.
• Prepare balance‑sheet and income‑statement variance analyses and financial reporting packages.
• Account for PPE additions, disposals, and maintain CWIP and fixed‑asset schedules.
• Assist with budget and forecast inputs.
• Support year‑end audit procedures.
• Research accounting treatment for routine transactions and maintain documentation.
• Propose and implement process improvements and execute internal control procedures.

Required profile

• 2+ years of full‑cycle accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• CPA designation or intent to sit for the CFE within 12 months.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.
