Account Manager – Foodservice (Saskatchewan)

About the role

The Account Manager – Foodservice will own the relationship with assigned food‑service and dairy regional distributors, operators, and contracted customers across Saskatchewan. The role focuses on delivering volume, net sales and profitability targets for Lactalis’ branded and private‑label dairy portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and secure new customers while expanding Lactalis’ presence with dairy distributors and food‑service operators.
• Negotiate, administer and renew regional customer contracts, coordinating pricing, volume, exclusivity and other terms with senior management and legal.
• Provide product samples, conduct cuttings, and analyse performance to recommend alternatives and process adaptations.
• Maintain deep product knowledge to communicate performance insights and drive product improvements.
• Create and execute annual business and trade‑spend plans to meet sales volume, net‑sales and profitability objectives.
• Prepare and present regular category and business reviews, using insights to identify opportunities, secure new listings or manage delistings.
• Implement account‑specific sales and marketing initiatives and participate in forecasting calls.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Credit, Distribution and the Sales Coordinator to resolve issues, launch new opportunities and manage discount, pricing, rebate and deduction processes.

Required profile

• Proven ability to develop and grow customer relationships in food‑service or dairy markets.
• Strong negotiation skills for contract terms, pricing and volume commitments.
• Excellent product knowledge and the capacity to translate performance data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience creating and managing annual sales and trade‑spend plans.
• Analytical mindset for preparing category reviews and forecasting.
• Collaborative approach with cross‑functional teams such as supply chain, credit and distribution.
