6G Network Architecture Engineer

About the role

Join Huawei Canada's Advanced Wireless Technology Lab in Ottawa to design and prototype next‑generation 6G network architectures. You will focus on beyond‑connectivity services such as AI, computing, and data, delivering proof‑of‑concept demonstrations that push the frontier of wireless technology.

Key responsibilities

• Design 6G network architecture with emphasis on AI‑driven services, computing, and data handling.
• Develop and evaluate Agentic AI solutions for 6G network management and optimization.
• Leverage lab resources to build and showcase proof‑of‑concept prototypes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to conduct research and produce publishable results.
• Contribute to team deliverables and publish findings in reputable venues.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical & Computing Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong research ability in complex topics and a track record of innovative solutions.
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of wireless network architectures.
• Expertise in AI, including large language models (LLM) and AI agents.
• Background in wireless communications, networking, and network protocols.
• Strong software design and programming capabilities.
