Transport Refrigeration Technician

About the role

Pro Reefer is seeking a Transport Refrigeration Technician to join its mobile service team in Quebec. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration equipment on trailers and trucks across Canada, ensuring reliable operation for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mobile yard and on‑site service calls for transport refrigeration units.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems and component failures in refrigeration equipment and heaters.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, pre‑trip inspections, and testing for freon leaks.
• Recharge and adjust refrigerant systems to manufacturer specifications.
• Enter service data using a web‑based tablet maintenance platform.
• Communicate effectively with customers, co‑workers, and service managers.

Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transport refrigeration repair.
• Valid driver’s licence in good standing.
• Own tools and a storage device.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Electrical diagnostics and repair.
• Refrigeration system testing, leak detection, and freon charging.
• Preventative maintenance and pre‑trip inspections.
• Use of tablet‑based maintenance software.
• Knowledge of major truck brands (Mack, International, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Volvo).
