Technical Service Engineer – Desktop Support

About the role

The Technical Service Engineer will provide on‑site desktop and network support for Schneider Electric’s Edmonton facility. Working Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend coverage), you will ensure end‑users have reliable IT equipment and services.

Key responsibilities

• Create, receive, monitor, and resolve work tickets.
• Image, set up, and support computers, monitors, mobile devices, and related peripherals.
• Perform proactive health checks on printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and video‑conference equipment.
• Install and maintain software in compliance with Schneider standards.
• Provide new‑hire orientation on IT assets and security policies.
• Manage secure password storage and VPN/network access.
• Coordinate with Service Desk and other IT groups for task execution.
• Maintain on‑site IT inventory, including moving, sorting, and stocking equipment.
• Assist regional projects and act as the local point of contact for IT requests.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to work independently onsite.
• Good organizational skills to manage tickets, inventory, and project tracking.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends for scheduled or unexpected maintenance.
