Tax Manager – Hybrid (One day onsite)

About the role

Clearhouse LLP is seeking a forward‑thinking Tax Manager to lead client engagements across a diverse portfolio that includes eSports, cannabis, psychedelics, technology, telecom, fintech and mining. The role is hybrid, with one day per week in the office and the remainder remote, offering the chance to shape tax strategy while mentoring a team of professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage tax engagements for a wide range of corporate, trust and estate clients.
• Identify, develop and implement tax planning strategies to capture business opportunities.
• Prepare and review tax reorganizations, corporate tax returns (T1, T2) and related compliance work.
• Advise on tax policy changes, cross‑border M&A, financing structures, debt restructurings and recapitalizations.
• Provide technical and project‑management leadership, ensuring quality‑control standards are met.
• Support assurance teams with tax provision reviews and prepare working papers for non‑assurance clients.
• Participate in business development and nurture relationships with existing clients.
• Train and develop junior staff, fostering professional growth within the tax practice.

Required profile

• BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent.
• CPA designation (completed or in‑process) with CPA In‑depth tax course preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a public accounting firm, primarily in tax.
• Experience with Canadian Controlled Public Companies, public corporations, partnerships and international/cross‑border tax matters.
• Strong verbal and written communication, research and writing abilities.
