Staff Product Designer

About the role

Join Planera’s fast‑growing design team as a Staff Product Designer focused on mobile applications. You will shape the mobile experience for construction scheduling tools used daily by field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design of the mobile app, from discovery through launch.
• Lead complex, ambiguous problem spaces by framing opportunities and turning inputs into clear design direction.
• Partner with product managers and engineers to set mobile roadmap priorities and trade‑offs.
• Advocate for field‑based users, grounding decisions in research and usage insights.
• Drive excellence in mobile interaction design, usability, accessibility and performance‑aware UX.
• Contribute to product strategy by linking mobile needs with broader platform goals.
• Influence and evolve the design system for scalable, consistent mobile patterns.
• Mentor other designers and facilitate design critiques and cross‑functional reviews.

Required profile

• 7+ years of product design experience with ownership of mobile apps (iOS, Android or cross‑platform).
• Portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end product ownership and strong interaction design.
• Experience leading large initiatives, influencing direction and working independently over multiple quarters.
• Deep understanding of mobile UX patterns, platform conventions and designing for on‑the‑go environments.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to balance craft, consistency and scalability.
• Excellent communication skills to influence product and engineering partners.
